Answer and Explanation:
In both poems we can see that the soul has autonomy and is able to make its own choices and decisions. However, in “The Soul Selects Her Own Society” this autonomy is even stronger and imposing and cannot suffer external influences, nor pressure from the powers that can rise up against it. On the other hand, in “The Soul unto itself” the soul's autonomy is not so strong and imposing and the soul is able to be shaped, manipulated and influenced by external powers that may not always have good and progressive goals.
