Why is Imagery not figurative
language?

Figurative language uses words and phrases that mean something different than what is actually said, while imagery uses descriptive words to appeal to the human senses - making it easier for authors to convey their works!

Imagery is often accompanied by figurative language, but they are surely not the same! Imagery is much more specific and precise when it is used, as well.
