we need to find slope first by using the equation y2-y1/x2-x1

we fill it in and it would be 5-5/-6-8 which equals 0/14, so the slope would be 0.

you then use point intercept form which is.. y-y1=m(x-x1)

fill it in like .. y-5=0(x-(-6)

you then simplify to get y=5
