What are the main reasons we cannot power the earth with 100% of renewable energy? Explain what can be done, or needs to be done to eventually achieve this goal.

the number one reason we cannot power the Earth with 100% renewable energy is because our dependence on nonrenewable energy(fossil fuels)...,but with technological advances in solar energy and the latest innovation in biofuels I wouldn't be surprised if we (humans) are powering our electronics with simply the steps we take in our daily routine.
