We have this equation: y = 4x + 6 and we need to solve it for x, so x should be at one side of the equation without any otehr number.

y = 4x + 6

Now, we pass the 4x at the left substracting:

y - 4x = 6

And the y summing at the other side:

4x = 6 + y

And now, we can pass the 4 which is multiplying x dividing to the other side

x =
(6+y)/(4)
