x = 3.33

Explanation:

2(4x-3)-8=4+2x

solve the brackets first

8x - 6 - 8 = 4 + 2x

8x - 16 = 4 + 2x

now transpose

8x - 2x = 4 + 16

6x = 20

x = 20 ÷ 6

x = 3.33
