The meaning of slope of this equation in terms of the context of the problem.

Solution:

Slope intercept form of a linear equation is


y=mx+b ...(i)

where, m is slope and b is y-intercept.

The given equation is


y=0.4433x+307.68 ...(ii)

On comparing (i) and (ii), we get


m=0.4433

Therefore, the slope of the linear equation is 0.4433. It means, student's verbal score, y increased by 0.4433 if the student's math score, x increased by 1.
