Find the HCF of these 2 pairs.

a) 4 and 5
b)8 and 13
c)80 and 120

Explanation:

There are no common factors in the first 2 other than 1 so their GCF is 1:-

a) 1

b) 1

c) 80 = 2*2*2*2*5

100 = 2*2*5*5

So looking for duplicate factors, the GCF = 2*2*5

= 20.
