It was dark, cold, and murky when he dreamt. When he woke flashes of memory came at him he was in Alaska fishing with his sister. The boat tipped she plummeted into the gloomy sunless black, and icy water below. He had to find her, but the flashes were gone just as soon as they came. Panicked he sat up he realized he was in a house a woman was cooking on a stove. Who was the girl asleep beside him. "oh your awake. I was so worried, you didn't come home and I panicked." Who was this strange woman speaking to him? He got up slowly as to not wake the slumbering girl. "You said you two were going fishing, so I rushed to the lake. The boat tipped Lacey fell in. She said it was freezing, and that you jumped in after her and put her back in the boat. You pushed the boat to shore when you got up you slipped and hit your head on a rock and fell into the water. Lacey tried to pull you back up, but you were too heavy for her. Had I not come running you would have drowned. Your father should b-" The girl interrupted " Your awake. I was so upset, I should have listened to you, Dakota. Your my big brother just like you said you're always right." At that, the girl bear-hugged him so tight he couldn't breathe. Your father died when you were ten you two were very close he taught you to fish, hunt and he taught you to be caring. In which even though you have no memories your still caring which shows just how much your character is." His mom said and pinched his cheeks and kissed him on the forehead." Now I must finish the soup we'll leave in the morning tomorrow dark is approaching fast. Just because you lost your memory doesn't mean you are free of chores now. Jake you and Elijah go chop some wood for the fire. Now. Shoo shoo. Go get," and with that, the mother shoved them out the door. When they were outside Jake showed him where the ax and firewood were and showed him how to cut the wood properly, then said, "while you do the wood I'll check the traps." By the time they came in dinner was done. The table was cluttered with food. Jake said, "Yep, that's mom when it looks like she's cooking something small it turns out to be a feast." They all sat down and ate more than their fair share of food. When dinner was done his mom said, "your bed is the top bun, I had to put you and your sister on the bottom one because you were too heavy for me. Goodnight sweetie pie. Sweet Dreams."It was morning they had eaten fried bacon and eggs for breakfast. His mom had called the doctor that morning to ask if he could get his memory back, but he'd said that he would have to check Elijah out to see first. As they drove the two-hour long drive he started to wonder about his childhood. How his father had died, and why his mom was so upset.
