I would say no, for the houses. The typical house during the time of the Gupta empire was made of bamboo or wood with a thatched roof. Many homes had only one room, although two rooms or more were not uncommon. Even the nobles and kings lived in wooden houses and palaces. A Gupta village was a noisy place.
And, The Huna People, also known as Huns, invaded Gupta territory and caused significant damage to the empire. The Gupta Empire ended in 550 CE, when it disintegrated into regional kingdoms after a series of weak rulers and invasions from the east, west, and north.
So... I don't think that I would want to live there. Although it was defined by creativity. Flourishing arts, fabulous literature, and stupendous scholars are just a few of the things that marked the period. That seems cool, I would enjoy that!
