We can use the tall person's shadow as a ratio to help us witht his problem.

The ratio would be 6:8

Once we know how tall the shadow cast is, we can divide that by 8 to be within the same ratio.

48 / 8 = 6

Then once we do that we multiply that by 6

6 x 6 = 36

And there we go, that's the answer.
