= 1/3*4^2*6

= 32 in^3

cuboid:

= 4*4*5

= 80 in^3

all together:

= 112 in^3

The volume of the given compound shape.

Solution:

Volume of the square pyramid:


v = (1)/(3) {l}^(2) h


v = (1)/(3) * {4}^(2) * 6


v = 32 \: {in}^(2)

Volume of the rectangular prism:


v = lbh


v = 4 * 4 * 5


v = 80 \: {in}^(2)

Total volume:


v = 32 + 80


v = 112 \: {in}^(2)
