many tables will the banquet hall have without going over its capacity?*

The answer is 36

Explanation:

  1. First you have to divide 288 by 8 and
  2. then you have to see how many times 8 will go into 2 it can't so see how many times it will go into 28 which is 3 and you will get 24
  3. then you subtract 24 from 28 and you get 4
  4. then bring down the 8 an it 48 now see how many times 8 will go into 48 which is 6 times and you get 48
  5. then you subtract 48 by 48 and you get 0 so the answer is 36
