Read this excerpt from "Birdfoot's Grampa."

But, leathery hands full
of wet brown life,
knee deep in the sumrler
roadside grass,
he just smiled and said
they have places to go to
too.
Why does the author use the words "wet brown life" in this excerpt?
to show that the grass is still alive and growing
to indicate that the mud is all over everything
to signify how wet the night has become
O to point out that the toads are living things

Answer:

To tell the reader that mud was everywhere.

Step-by-step explanation:

I took the test and got it right. Also because the grass was wet and usually when rain comes down grass becomes moist and breaks down the dirt and turns it into mud. I hope this helps?
