Answer: The number of books she should put on each shelf = 7

Explanation:

Given: Total books = 116

Total shelves = 16

To determine : The number of books she should put on each shelf, we first divides the total number of books by the total shelf.

116/ 16=7\frac14

So she can put 7 books in each shelf such that (7x16=) 112 books got placed and (116-112=)4 books left.

Hence, The number of books she should put on each shelf = 7.
