Lucas has 16 chocolate bars

Explanation:

Let x = number of chocolate bars Lucas has

⇒ x - 2 = number of chocolate bars Caidon has

If they have 30 chocolate bars altogether then:

⇒ x + x - 2 = 30

⇒ 2x - 2 = 30

⇒ 2x = 32

⇒ x = 16

Therefore, Lucas has 16 chocolate bars (and Caidon has 14 chocolate bars).
