Bobby is trying to decide between two gym memberships. Gym A has a membership fee of $40 and then you pay $10 per class. Gym B has a membership fee of $30 and is $15 per class. How many classes will make the gyms the same price?

Answer:

2 classes

Explanation:

a: 10x+40

b: 15x+30

10x+40=15x+30

subtract 10x from each side

40=5x+30

now subtract 30

10=5x

5 times what equals ten

5*2=10

x=2
