Answer:

  • y = 3/2x - 2

Explanation:

Given line

  • 3x - 2y = 14

To find

  • Parallel line passing through the point (-6, -11)

Solution

Let's put the given line into slope-intercept form

  • 3x - 2y = 14
  • 2y = 3x - 14
  • y = 3/2x - 7

Parallel line has same slope, the equation of the parallel line is

  • y = 3/2x + b

Finding y-intercept using the point (-6, -11)

  • -11 = 3/2*(-6) + b
  • -11= -9 + b
  • b = -2

So the line is

  • y = 3/2x - 2
