Answer:

In the document titled The Declaration of Sentiments, written by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the primary focus of the document is feminism and women's rights. Stanton was a strong advocate for giving equal rights to women as compared to men. She mentions multiple rights that women currently did not have that she believed women should have the right to, just like the men did. The grounds that she uses to demand equal rights for women in this document are women's lack of the right to own land, the right to vote, the right to be educated at college, and the right to contribute to the making of laws for the nation and the state.

Answer:

Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a female activist along with Susan B. Anthony in 1866 campaigned against the 14th and 15th Amendment because it was gender-biased and hypocritical as far as the women folk were concerned.

Stanton was instrumental in the design of the 'Declaration of Sentiments'. This document much like that which Thomas Jefferson designed (The Declaration of Independence) as a basis for which America must become self-determining, It spelt out the rights accruable to American women whilst juxtaposing the struggle by women for equality to the Founding Fathers’ versus the British.

Amongst the ills listed as points suppression by the men are the following: The prevention of women

  • from land ownership
  • voting
  • gaining a college education and
  • contributing to the creation of laws to which they must submit, amongst others.

Some of the points listed in the Jeffersons declaration which bear similiarity with what the women campaigned for are:

  • The imposition of taxes on America without her consent
  • Cutting off America's trade with other parts of the world
  • The repeated dissolution of the House of Representative because the invasion of the right of the people was opposed, to mention but a few.

Cheers
