Hello.

Subtract 5 from both sides of the equation.

2x + 5 (-5) = 11 (-5)

Simplify

2x = 6

Divide both sides of the equation by 2.

2x (/2) = 6 (/2)

x = 3

The unknown number in the equation is 3.
