Your review should include these elements:
It should have a strong thesis statement in the introduction. Here’s an example: Although The Speckled Band is a fine film in its own right, it lacks the level of suspense and intrigue found in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Adventure of The Speckled Band.”
The body of the essay should summarize the plot and touch on elements of setting and characterization. It should also explain how the plot, setting, and characters differ in the text and in the film.
It should explain one or more of the story’s themes and how they play out in the story.
It should discuss the performance of the actors.
It should include a comparison of the overall effect of the text and the film. It should also state whether the film is a successful retelling of the original story.
The conclusion should restate and support your thesis statement.
