The formula which is used to find the common difference in AP is

d = an - an-1

Here the common difference is

d = a2 - a1 = 8 - 2 = 6

d = a3 - a2 = 14 - 8 = 6

d = a4 - a3 = 20 - 14 = 6

d = a5 - a4 = 26 - 20 = 6

2, 8, 14, 20, 26 … = 2, (2 + 6), (8 + 6), (14 + 6), (20+ 6) …

Therefore, the common difference is 6.
