A veterinarian is changing the diets of two animals, Simba and Cuddles. Simba currently consumes 890 Calories per day. That number will increase by 130 Calories each day. Cuddles currently consumes 3,200 Calories a day. That number will decrease by 200 Calories each day. The patterns will continue until both animals are consuming same number of Calories each day. In how many days will that be? How many Calories will the animals be consuming each day then?

Answer:

A) 7 days

B) 1800 calories

Explanation:

Simba consumes : 890 Calories per day, increases by 130 calories/day

Cuddles consumes : 3200 calories per day decreases by 200 calories/day

A) How many days will it take for both animals to start consuming the same amount of Calories

after the first day :

Simba will be consuming = 890 + 130 = 1020 calories

Cuddles will be consuming = 3200 - 200 = 3000 calories

After several days -----

after the 7th day :

Simba will be consuming = 890 + ( 130 * 7 ) = (890 + 910) = 1800 calories

Cuddles will be consuming = 3200 - ( 200 * 7 ) = (3200 - 1400 ) = 1800 calories

B) The number of Calories the animals will be consuming each day then will be = 1800 calories
