Count the atoms in each formula from the reactions here:

H3C6H507 + NaHCO3 → CO2 + H2O + NaC6H50- + H2
PARTA
How many Hydrogen atoms are on side 1?
How many Carbon atoms?
How many Oxygen atoms?
How many Sodium atoms (Sodium is Na)?
PART B
How many Hydrogen atoms are on side 2?
How many Carbon atoms?
How many Oxygen atoms?

Answer:

Part A: (on left side)

  1. Hydrogen= 511
  2. Carbon=7
  3. Oxygen= 3
  4. Sodium= 1

Part B: (on the right side)

  1. Hydrogen= 511
  2. Carbon=7
  3. Oxygen= 3
  4. Sodium= 1

Here is the thing, for a chemical equation, both sides have same number of atoms, even though the compounds are different
