2/3 multiplied by 1/8 would be 2/24. But in simplest form, it would be 1/12.
This is because when you multiply the numerators (top of the fraction), which in this case is 2 and 1, you get 2.
And the denominators (bottom part of the fraction), which is 3 and 8, would equal 24.
Then that would give you the fraction 2/24. And that can be simplified by finding the gcf (greatest common factors).
The gcf of 2 would be 2. Since it’s the highest number that fits in it.
Since you can’t get any higher than 2, you can’t use any other factors from 24.
So 24 divided by 2 is 12.
So the answer you get in the end is 1/12. I hope this helped :)

Answer:

(1)/(12)

Explanation:

Since we're finding the product, we have to multiply:

(2)/(3) ×
(1)/(8)

You can simplify in this stage by using the "butterfly method", and dividing
2 by
2, and
8 by
2, you'd then have:

(1)/(3) ×
(1)/(4)

Multiply the numerators and the denominators to get:

(1)/(12)

~

If you prefer the longer way, again, multiply:

(2)/(3) ×
(1)/(8)

Multiply the numerators and the denominators:

(2)/(24)

Simplify the fraction by dividing both the numerator and denominator by
2:

(1)/(12)
