Explanation:

(x+4)+(3x-2)+(2x+1)

=x+4+3x-2+2x+1

=x+4+3x-2+2x+1 --> Here I'm just bolding the variables. This makes it easier to combine like terms in the next line.

=6x+4-2+1

=6x+3
