When making bread,you add yeastand sugar, buti does not taste steet, why?

Answer:

Yeast is a fungus, and eats sugar for energy. When this occurs, carbon dioxide and fermentation occurs, in which the carbon dioxide is trapped within the bread, allowing for it to rise. If there is little to no sugar left after the bread is completed, then the bread will not taste sweet.
