Must a function that is decreasing over a given interval always be negative over that same interval? Explain. This is the question. Can someone please help explain the question and answer?

well Clearly, this function is decreasing and negative over its domain. This function is decreasing over the interval. but it is not negative. so the function may not be negative over the interval it is decreasing on.
