J=2+B+M it means that Jacobs age is equal to Becky age plus Micahs age plus 2

Let’s assign variables to the ages. Jacob = j Becky = B Micah = m
We know that the sum of Becky and Micah’s ages is equal to Jacob’s age + 2.
So j + 2 = b + m
And further solving ...
j = b + m - 2
