Given:

  • Radius= 4 centimeters

Diameter of the circle:

diameter = 2r

d = 2 * 4

d = 8 \: cm

Area of the circle:

area = \pi {r}^(2)

a = \pi * {4}^(2)

a = 50.26548 \: {cm}^(2)

a = 50.27 \: {cm}^(2) \: (2 \: d.p)

given:

radius= 4 cm

to find:

the area and the diameter of the circle.

solution:

diameter:

d = 2r

d = 2 * 4

d = 8 \: cm

therefore, the diameter of the circle is 8 centimeters.

area:

a = \pi {r}^(2)

a = \pi * {4}^(2)

a = 50.26548 \: {cm}^(2)

a = 50.27 \: {cm}^(2)

hence, the area of the circle is 50.27 square centimeters.
