The sum of three numbers is 74. The first number is three less than half the second number. if the third number is four times the second number what is the value of the first number?

Answer:

x=59/6

Explanation:

Let's just say x+y+z=74

x=y-3

z=4y

So if we wanna convert everything into one variable, we get (y-3)+y+4y=74

Simplify and you get 6y=77

Now solve for y, and - 3 to get x
