The temperature in Jeff City is 58 degrees and is rising 0.5 degrees each hour the temperature in Amber city is 61° and is rising 0.25 out each hour after how many hours will the temperatures and Jeff and ambers city be the same

Given :

The temperature in Jeff City is 58 degrees and is rising 0.5 degrees each hour .

The temperature in Amber city is 61° and is rising 0.25 out each hour .

To Find :

After how many hours will the temperatures of Jeff's and Amber's city be the same .

Solution :

Let , after x hours temperature of both the city is same .

Now , time dependency of temperature in Jeff's city is :


T_1=0.5t+58 .

Also , in Amber;s city :


T_2=0.25t+61 .

Now , at time x temperature of both city is same .

So ,


0.5x+58=0.25x+61\\\\0.25x=3\\\\x=12\ hours

Therefore , after 12 hours the temperatures of Jeff's and Amber's city will be same .

Hence , this is the required solution .
