Counting the squares, the length of the vertical side = 16.

The other 2 sides are of equal length and can be found by Pythagoras theorem:

The vertex of the triangle is 6 units from the longest side and the line of 6 units meets the longest side at its center ( 8 units from its ends),

so l^2 = 6^2 + 8^2

l^2 = 100

l = 10

So the perimeter is 16 + 10 + 10= 36.
