Answer:

\boxed{ \bold{ \huge{ \boxed{ \sf{ (3)/(4) \: \: or \: \:0.75 }}}}}

Explanation:

\sf{x - (5)/(8) = (1)/(8) }

L.C.M of 1 and 8 = 8

\longrightarrow{ \sf{ (x * 8 - 5)/(8) = (1)/(8) }}

\longrightarrow{ \sf{ (8x - 5)/(8) = (1)/(8)}}

Do cross multiplication

\longrightarrow{ \sf{8(8x - 5) = 1 * 8}}

\longrightarrow{ \sf{64x - 40 = 8}}

Move 40 to right hand side and change its sign

\longrightarrow{ \sf{64x = 8 + 40}}

Add the numbers : 40 and 8

\longrightarrow{ \sf{64x = 48}}

Divide both sides by 64

\longrightarrow{ \sf{ (64x)/(64) = (48)/(64) }}

Calculate

\longrightarrow{ \sf{ (3)/(4) }}

Hope I helped!

Best regards! :D
