we know that 5 goes into 100 20 times ;

100 ÷ 5 = 20 ;

then we have to multiply the numerator by 20 as well because we have multiplied the bottom by 20 ;

2 x 20 = 40 ;

(40)/(100)

then to convert this into a decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator

40 ÷ 100 = 0.4
