Answer:

x = - 26

Explanation:

Let the number be x.

According to the question,

(x+5)/(x-2) = (3)/(4)\\

Cross multiplying 4 & 3 gives :-

4(x+5)=3(x-2)

And solving this eqn. gives :-

4(x+5)=3(x-2)\\=> 4x+20=3x-6\\=>4x-3x=-20-6\\=>x=-26

Verification :-

(putting the value of x = -26 )

(x+5)/(x-2) \\\\=>(-26+5)/(-26-2) \\\\=> (-21)/(-28) \\\\=>(21)/(28)

Reducing
(21)/(28) by 7 gives
(3)/(4) .
