This is English. It allows for an appreciation for the unusual. Aren't you impressed with a young boy inventing a way to be a young boy? He was not content to just turn on and turn off the switch. After taking instruction from his mother, he created a variation. Lightning. How many times have all of us turned on a light, and never once thought of a variation as this kid did?

You could pick interesting dialog, but there isn't any.

You could pick logical sequencing and I think that's the second best answer. He didn't get creative until he heard his mother's instruction.
