Where,

V= Volume of a rectangular prism

L= Length

W= Width

H= height

Volume of a rectangular prism= Length × Width × Height

Let

length of the box = x

width = length

Width = x

Height= x - 4

Volume of a rectangular prism= Length × Width × Height

= x * x * (x - 4)

= x^2 * (x - 4)

= x^3 - 4x^2

Volume of a rectangular prism = x^3 - 4x^2
