A solid cubiod measures 7cm, 5cm,3cm. (a) Calculate the total surface area of the cubiod. (b) A cube has the same volume as the cubiod. Calculate the length of an edge of this cube

Answer:

Te total surface area (TSA) of the cuboid is the sum of the area of its 6 faces

if the cuboid has width(w)=7 cm, Height (h)=3cm., length(h)=5cm

A=lw=5*7=35 cm²

A2=hw=3*7=21

A3=lh=5*3=15

TSA=2(lw+hw+lh)

TSA=2(35+21+15)

TSA=2(71)=142cm²

volume of the cubiod=l*w*h

V=lhw

V=7*5*3= 105 cm³

the length of an edge of this cube:

since it is a cube then all sides are equal l=w=h

√105= 10.247 ( rounded to the nearest hundredth)
