Explanation:

The distributive property is as follows :

a(b+c)=ab+ac ....(1)

We need to solve
24((d)/(4)-5)=156 using distributive property

Applying property (1) on the LHS of given equation

Taking a = 24, b = d/4 and c = -5

So,

24((d)/(4)+(-5))=156\\\\24* (d)/(4)+24* (-5)=156\\\\6d-120=156\\\\6d=156+120\\\\6d=276\\\\d=(276)/(6)\\\\d=46

So, we get the value of d as 6 using distributive property.
