The diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular bisectors of each other.

All sides are congruent.

The diagonals divide the rhombus into 4 congruent right triangles.

Applying Pythagoras' identity to 1 of the triangles with legs 6 and 8 and hypotenuse the side s of the rhombus, then

s² = 6² + 8² = 36 + 64 = 100 ( take the square root of both sides )
