Explanation:

Here, we are interested in calculating the distance around the running track.

We have two semi-circles of diameter 30m and two parallel straight lines of length 50m

Firstly let’s add the parallel straight lines, we have 50 + 50 = 100 m

Now these two semicircles when joined together gives a full circle. And since they are of same diameter, by calculating the circumference of the full circle, we can have the length around the two bends

Mathematically, that would be; πd

The circumference is thus; 22/7 * 30 = 94.29 m

Thus, the length of the running track will be 100 + 94.3m = 194.3m
