Answer: (-6,8)

Explanation:

  • Translation is a rigid motion inn which every point of the figure moved in the same direction and for the same distance

Translation rules are

Left c units :
(x,y)\to(x-c,y)

Down c units :
(x,y)\to(x,y-c)

The image point of (-5,9) after a translation left 1 unit and down 1 unit will be:


(-5,9)\to(-5-1,9-1)=(-6,8)

Hence, the image point is (-6,8).
