Answer:

She spend
(7)/(24) more on erasers than rulers.

Explanation:

We are given that Isabelle bought some stationery.

Fraction of pencil =
(1)/(3)

Remaining stationary =
1-(1)/(3)=(2)/(3)

5/8 of the remainder were erasers

So, part of eraser in stationary=
(5)/(8) * (2)/(3)=(5)/(12)

Remaining stationary(rulers)=
(2)/(3)-(5)/(12)=(1)/(4)

Cost of ruler = $0.50

Cost of
(1)/(4)rulers =
0.50 * (1)/(4)=(1)/(8)

Cost of eraser=$1

Cost of
(5)/(12) eraser=
(5)/(12)

Difference in cost of eraser and rulers =
(5)/(12)-(1)/(8)=(7)/(24)

Hence She spend
(7)/(24) more on erasers than rulers.
