Explanation:

Veronica had 1 1/4th lbs of cheese already but the container weighted 1/16 lbs. 4/16ths are equal to 1/4th. Veronica only had 1 3/16ths worth of cheese so knowing that she had 8/16ths left add 3/16ths and you get 11/16ths.
