Answer:

The product will increase by 20%

Explanation:

Let 'x' and 'y'= the two numbers respectively

xy= product of the two numbers

x increased by 50%

=50/100*x

=0.5x

Increase

x+0.5x

=1.50x

y decreased by 20% is

=20% of y

=0.20y

Decrease

y-0.20y

=0.80y

Find the product of 1.50x and 0.80y

1.50x*0.80y = 1.20xy

Now we find the increase percentage:

(1.20xy - xy) / xy *100

=0.20xy / xy *100

= 0.20xy/ xy *100

=0.2*100

= 20%

The product will increase by 20%
