Answer:

3x +2y = 11 .... 1

x +5y = 8....2

x + 5y = 8

multiply by -3 on both sides

-3x - 15y = -24

-3x - 15y = - 24

3x +2y = 11

-13y = -13

y = 1

substitute the value of y in 1 or 2

3x +2y = 11

3x = 11 - 2y

3x = 11 - 2(1)

3x = 9

x = 3

(x;y) ( 3 ; 1)

  • 3x+2y=11--(1)
  • x+5y=8--(2)

eq(2)×3

  • 3x+15y=24-(3)

eq(1)-eq(3)

  • -13y=-13
  • y=-13/-13
  • y=1

Putting in eq(2)

  • x+5=8
  • x=8-5
  • x=3

Pair

  • (3,1)
