I think of a number multiply it by 4 and subtract 3 i get 11

x * 4 - 3 = 11 \\ or \: 4x - 3 = 11 \\ or \: 4x = 11 + 3 \\ or \: 4x = 14 \\ or \: x = (14)/(4) \\ x = 3.5
