Explanation:

Each of the three dimensions of the cube is 2 ft.

All of the six sides of this cube are squares of edge 2 ft.

The area of one square is (2 ft)^2 = 4 ft^2, and so

the total area is 6(4 ft^2) = 24 ft^2
