expand: 3x-12>5x+2

subtract 3x and subtract 2 to both sides

-14>2x

which is just

2x<-14

so x<-7.

the only value is -10. :D

Distribute

3x -12 > 5x+2

Subtract 3x from each side

3x-12-3x > 5x-3x+2

-12 > 2x+2

Subtract 2 from each side

-12 -2 > 2x+2-2

-14 > 2x

Divide by 2

-14/2 > 2x/2

-7 > x

X must be less than -7

-10 is less than -7
